Did somebody say vegan tikka masala?! Yes! This super tasty, creamy, packed-with-flavour, Indian food will make your lunch and dinner unforgettable!
If we had to choose that one vegan sauce, it would be Tikka Masala. It’s super easy, fast and worthwhile. Good for a bigger crowd, because you can make it in bigger quantities and have it as a side sauce to anything, most commonly, to rice. The sauce is also great with quinoa, brown rice and cilantro lime rice. Moreover, fantastic with vegan naan. Check out this vegan naan recipe for inspiration.
For this specific vegan recipe we highly recommend using Garam Masala spice. It’s an integral ingredient to achieve the most true taste in your vegan Tikka Masala. Originally Tikka Masala is made from marinated chicken, but since this is a vegan version, we will use NATURLI’ chick free pieces. So you will not miss out on any “chicken meaty” taste.
It’s important to mention that instead of Vegan NATURLI’ chick free you can also use tofu which has a meaty texture and protein. Tempeh or seitan can also be an option. But if you’re searching for a soy and gluten-free alternative – beans and chickpeas can be a good choice.
Feel free to improvise by adding more vegetables to your Vegan Tikka Masala. Such as cauliflower, sweet potato and carrots which can boost up your veggie intake.
Vegan Tikka Masala is also good for leftovers. Store it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. It can be a great idea for an upcoming busy week.
Recipe
Start by roasting NATURLI’ Chick Free on pan with oil until golden on outside. Add chopped onion and crushed garlic to the pan. In addition to make your Tikka Masala more flavourful – add tomato puree, ginger, garam masala, chili and curcumin. After that add the can of tomatoes and veggie stock. Lastly for more smoother consistency and taste, stir in the Oat Cuisine. Serve with boiled rice.
