Halloween latte

Instruction

Heat the Oat Barista in a pot with the water, spice mix and pumpkin puree.
Whisk well while heating so that the drink foams up. You may wish to use a stick blender or milk frother.
Flavour with the maple syrup, then add the strong coffee plus the vanilla paste.
Serve the hot pumpkin spiced latte in glasses or cups so that the beautiful orange colour shows.

Easy Latte Art:
Draw a spiral on the foam on the hot latte using a teaspoon of liquorice syrup.
Pull a toothpick into the liquorice syrup from the centre of the spiral to the edge of the cup 6 to 8 times, all the way around the foam, so you end up with a nice, creepy spider’s web on top of your drink.
Garnish with a star anise as a spider.

*Place 80 g of cubed pumpkin in a small saucepan with 50 ml of water. Cover the saucepan with a lid and steam the pumpkin cubes for approx. 5 minutes or until tender. If the water evaporates completely during the process, add a bit more water.
Strain away any excess water once the steaming process is complete.
Use a stick blender to blend the pumpkin cubes into a mash.
You might also find ready-made pumpkin puree in a tin at very well-stocked supermarkets.
